Some weddings stay with you for a long time—not because of elaborate details or over-the-top moments, but because of the people. Chris and Yoonjee were that kind of couple for me. From the first in person encounter at their engagement session, they felt like old friends—gracious, easy to talk to, and so full of kindness that working with them felt more like serving people I genuinely cared for. As a Texas photographer, weddings like theirs at One Eleven East in Hutto, Texas, remind me why I do what I do.
Their wedding took place in late spring, with a color palette that was effortlessly elegant: soft hues of dusty blue, gentle greens, and clean whites. One Eleven East, with its signature white brick walls, tall windows, and urban loft charm, provided the perfect blank canvas for their vision. The natural light flooding in made everything glow—from the florals to the couple themselves.
Though both Chris and Yoonjee are Korean, they opted not to include traditional Korean customs in their ceremony. Instead, they leaned into the simplicity and sacredness of a Christ-centered celebration, letting their faith and warmth guide every part of the day. One of the most touching moments happened when Yoonjee’s father gently placed her hand into Chris’s during the ceremony. It wasn’t just a gesture—it was a quiet, powerful symbol of trust and blessing. As a photographer, I’ve seen countless “hand-off” moments, but this one struck me deeply. It wasn’t transactional—it was holy. A father entrusting his most precious gift into the care of another, grounded in scripture and covenant.
Another heartfelt detail was how both the bride and groom bowed to their parents during the ceremony—a gesture of honor, gratitude, and humility. They followed with warm hugs that brought tears to many eyes, including mine. It was a beautiful reminder that weddings are not just about two people—they’re about families, about legacy, and about the sacredness of love passed down and shared.
Dinner took place down several long rows of communal tables, echoing the day’s themes of unity and togetherness. It felt like a true family gathering. The toasts, delivered in both Korean and English, painted a clear picture of the kind of people Chris and Yoonjee are: compassionate, welcoming, and deeply faithful. Every story shared, every word spoken affirmed what I had already come to know about them—they are the kind of people who make you feel at home instantly.
And then came the party. High energy. Joyful. Unapologetically fun. The dance floor lit up with Korean pop and dance music—most of which I’d never heard before, except for one unforgettable moment when “Gangnam Style” by Psy blasted through the speakers. Everyone, young and old, got into it. It was the perfect blend of joy, culture, and celebration.
As a Texas photographer, weddings like this one fill my creative cup. Chris and Yoonjee’s day at One Eleven East was beautiful in every way—but more than anything, it was genuine. It wasn’t about impressing or performing. It was about love—real, God-honoring love—and the people who helped shape it.
This wedding will stay close to my heart for a long time. And if you’re planning your own celebration at One Eleven East or elsewhere in Texas, I’d love to help capture it with the same care and joy that Chris and Yoonjee extended to me.
