An Intimate Garden Wedding at The Sanctuary Event Space in Austin, Texas – Taylor & Kevin

As an Austin wedding photographer, I’m always excited when I get the chance to capture a wedding at The Sanctuary Event Space. Tucked away in the heart of the city, this venue feels like something out of a storybook—an overgrown secret garden with an intimate charm that’s hard to find elsewhere. It’s perfect for couples who want a laid-back, magical setting, and Taylor and Kevin’s spring wedding there was nothing short of unforgettable.



Taylor and Kevin, originally from Austin but now living in Chicago, chose to come back home for their big day—and it was clear that every moment was infused with that sense of coming full circle. Kevin proposed to Taylor on New Year’s Eve with his grandmother’s 1920s heirloom ring, a sentimental touch that echoed the personal and heartfelt details that would be woven throughout their wedding.




Their dynamic as a couple is the kind you love to witness: Kevin, the free spirit, always keeping things light and fun; Taylor, the structured and detail-oriented one, making sure everything runs smoothly. It’s a perfect balance, and it created such a joyful, relaxed energy not just for them, but for the entire vendor team. Working with them was an absolute dream.




The Sanctuary Event Space truly came alive with their vision. Spring colors and soft florals brought brightness and whimsy to the ceremony, blending beautifully with the venue’s lush greenery and rustic elements. Before the ceremony, Taylor and Kevin shared a private first look—an emotional, grounding moment that gave them space to connect before the excitement of the day picked up. As a photographer, those quiet moments are gold. You could feel the love and anticipation in the air.


One of the most memorable parts of the evening was the family-style dinner served under the shade of the venue’s century-old oak tree. The setting was serene, intimate, and just plain magical—twinkling lights overhead, laughter echoing through the garden, and loved ones gathered around long tables sharing a meal. It’s what The Sanctuary Event Space does best: turning a simple gathering into something deeply meaningful and picturesque.




Later that night, an old-fashioned ice cream truck pulled up, serving as the perfect late-night treat and a nod to the couple’s playful side. And in true Austin fashion, Taylor and Kevin made their exit on scooters—laughing, gliding into the night, and soaking in all the love around them.

The soft flicker of Super 8mm paired so beautifully with the garden setting and romantic spring colors—it felt like watching a home movie from another era. It was the perfect choice for a couple who value emotion, connection, and story.



Taylor and Kevin’s wedding was a reminder of how love, family, and a bit of Austin flair can create something truly unforgettable.
