Hamilton Pool Elopement: Kaija & Stephen's Hamilton Pool Wedding

Updated: Mar 29, 2021

November 17, 2020. Fall is no where to be found in Austin, Texas other than some scant yellowing of certain trees in the hill country. It was a warm day, it was my birthday AND it was Kaija and Stephen's wedding day.

I feel so honored to be doing what I love on any given day but sharing my birthday with an amazing couple like Kaija and Stephen is just an added layer of fun to an already special day.

Kaija and Stephen's story is an adorable one. One in which they started off as neighboors in the same apartment building and ended up with a beautiful elopement at Hamilton Pool.

Hamilton pool is such an incredible location to say I do. There are a few caveats to be aware of if this is something you are seriously considering. Hamilton Pool allows entry by reservation only. . Half of your booking fee is paid online when you reserve your slot and the other half is paid in cash at the park. The park only accepts cash! There are only two reservation slots a day; 9am and 2pm with each slot only allowing guest to stay 2.5 hours. This is a land under preservation which is why this reservation stucture exists this way. In addition Hamilton pool only allowss 60 (or so) reservations per 2.5 hour slot and in the summer and spring time these reservations fill ups MONTHS in advanced!

When it comes to planning your elopement I do all the research and leg work to provide an excellent service based experience for you. Learn more about my wedding and elopement packages.

Luckily, Kaija and Stephen had their elopement on a weekday in the fall. No swimming is allowed at this time therefore by those circumstances there were not a lot of visitors that were around to intrude on the elopement by the pool. Gus (their pooch) was "double booked" and wasn't able to attend the wedding but was able to meet his newly wedded parents at a near by park to make his debut for family photos... and his absence defintly wasn't because dogs are not allowed at Hamilton Pool... he's a busy boy (Gus may or may not have asked me to state that). However he came well dressed for the occasion with his "best dog" bandana around his neck.

The best news of all is that it's free to get married at Hamilton Pool. Rangers there have been some of the first to congratulate couples who wed there. If planned correctly and with consideration Hamilton Pool is the perfect location to have a beautiful hill country Texas elopement.
