Texas State Capitol: Dru & Greg Engagement Session
The Texas State Capitol already has a soft place in my heart. I know it's a strange thing to say that about a political building, but it was the first time I shot a solo wedding after moving to Austin, Texas. After that wedding I never went back for a shoot, but not because of a choice of my own. I suppose living in Austin and having the courtyard of State Capitol at your disposal, it's easy to take for granted or overlook the beauty.
The Texas State Capitol’s courtyards are free and open to the public. Go to visit any random day and you'll see tourists and locals enjoying picnics on the lawn, basking under the sun on warm days, and spectators gawking and the outer beauty of the structure. Greg and Dru desired a city downtown vibe for their engagement photos and after considering places like 6th street, Greg & Dru felt the Capitol was quickly overlooked and made the decision to have their session there.
I was delighted to accommodate the change and excited since realizing it had been near 2 years since shooting there. I was excited to play with the lines of man-made architecture while incorporating the fun and playfulness that Dru and Greg exuded.
Soon Dru will become Mrs. Peace and I was so honored to have played a part in documenting this time in their lives
